Running Analysis at FTP

If you’re an Athens-area resident, you know this time of year is prime time for AthHalf training! Whether you’re running the AthHalf as a springboard into longer distances or as your very first half marathon, training season is ramping up. And even if you’re not training for the AthHalf, it’s so important to be properly prepared for whatever running endeavors you’re tackling this year.

That’s where our running analysis comes in.

A running analysis is for you if you are:

  • Dealing with an injury

  • Working through nagging aches or pains

  • Looking to improve your performance

When you schedule a running analysis at FTP, you can expect a simple process that yields invaluable results to elevate your running game.

Step 1: Consultation

When you arrive, you’ll talk with your physical therapist about your goals, your current volume, and what you’re training to run. This is important because it allows your physical therapist to craft the session to fit your specific needs.

Step 2: Video Analysis

This is where you get to run! We will film you running at your regular pace on our curved treadmill and evaluate several data points (you’ll receive a copy of your results at the end of your appointment), and then we’ll watch the videos with you and point out any discrepancies changes in range of motion, or anything else that might be holding you back.

Step 3: Interventions and Correctives

To finish off your appointment, your PT might also perform some strength tests with our VALD equipment to evaluate other data points. This stage is all about using the data your PT just gathered to enact a plan that can include exercise correctives or ways you can modify your running program within reason to make sure you’re achieving your goals.

Our running analysis at FTP isn’t meant to take you out of running— we want you to be able to see where you can improve and keep you on track to achieve your goals effectively and efficiently!

If you’re training— whether it’s the AthHalf or 5k or another race— we want to be a resource for you! Book your running analysis today and get on track to perform at your best.
